Annual Conference

The annual educational conference presented by the Rochester Chapter of STC is called spectrum. This day-long event brings together speakers from all areas of technical communications. Through the presentations, workshops, discussion forums and exhibits, opportunity exists for you to discover new information and technologies, share ideas, and network.

Dr. Janice (Ginny) Redish, noted usability expert and author, headlines our 49th conference. Join us as Ginny provides insights on making Web sites and Web applications meet both business goals and site visitors’ needs in her presentation, “Letting Go of the Words - Writing Web Content that Works”. Her comments on usability have application to all of us, especially as more of our content transfers to the Web.

The next meeting of the spectrum 2008 planning committee will take place on TUESDAY, MARCH 18th at 5:30 p.m. at Bill Gray’s Restaurant.

1225 Jefferson Road (Route 252 and I-390)
5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you are heading from I-490 or I-590, go south on I-390, take the Rt. 252/Jefferson Rd exit (Exit 14A). The exit T’s into Rt. 252.
Turn left onto 252 East, go under the 390 bridge, and there is a Perkins on your right. This is Frontier Commons plaza (formerly Cohoes Commons). Turn right at the light into the plaza. Bill Gray’s is on your right after Perkins. Come in the restaurant and up the ramp. We will be set up in the back of the restaurant. Come as close to 5:30 p.m. as you can. Order food, if you want, the meeting will start by 5:45 p.m.
