Editing php isn’t as straightforward as editing ‘plain vanilla’ HTML or even XHTML. Things that look like tags may be content. Content is sometimes bracketed like tags. Stuff you never saw before can be inserted in the middle of your stuff because of a ? in the php code. It’s fun, but it’s taking longer than I expected to get the kinks worked out. Right now, I’m trying to get rid of the redundant date at the top of the page. It isn’t the date of the first post. It’s the date of the default “Hello, world!” post that I deleted right after installing the wp files. Aargh.
